13 november 2009 by Frederic Lapointe

A well-deserved success for audio archives! I was happy to present you our last born.. a versatile case for the preservation of audio reels. https://www.stilcasing.com/preservation_analogique_audio.html

I would like to thank all the members of the AMIA for their comments on our products and their great mood during this conference. This annual meeting gave me the occasion to reconnect with all of you and discuss about our passions and goals.

I got the chance to visit the Gateway Arch, I was quite impressed by  the size!
Gateway Arch
A bit of its story: 1947, the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial launched a contest to all architects in the goal of building a monument in St.Louis symbolizing the Gateway to the West and representing the 20th Century.  Of all the 172 projects that were represented, only 5 were held and in 1948 the Arch which was presented by Eero Saarinen was selected.

Construction of the arch started in 1963 and was completed in 1965,  630 feet tall and 630 feet wide. Since then, it is visited by more than 4 million people per year, meaning approximately 30,000 visitors a day and over 5,000 actually make it to the top.

See you next year!
